Meet Pierre and Maurice! All the children know these two characters well, as they have been helping to teach French in the school for some time!

French at Milton has been taught for several years, and is now taught across the school from Year 1 to Year 6. This is unusual in a Primary School and we pride ourselves in the quality and extent of the French that is provided.

There is an emphasis on conversational French but topics also include teaching traditional tales in French, learning about French speaking and culture around the world and  – the children’s favourite! – tasting and making typical French food. Year 6 do a project on Le Choclatiere – tasting then making their own chocolate products!

This year, for the second time, a group of children from Year 4 and 5 visited Boulogne. They spent time in a traditional bakery (a boulangerie), a sweet factory and in the wonderful Nausicca Sea Life centre. We’ll be going again in 2018!
